No
X-rays Available:
Yes
Case Summary
Filling
Teeth: 19
Case Description
My dentist gave me a white filing first and I felt sensitive for cold, hot or any pressure. They gave me an X-ray showing nothing wrong with that tooth and I was told it took about one month to become normal for white filing. However, I did not feel any better even after one month. The dentist removed the filling and gave me a silver filling this time. But I feel even worse now.
I used to have some filling when I was a kid. Nothing like this before. What should I do?
Thanks!

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Your pain has nothing to do with the filling material itself. There is something else wrong with the tooth and it does not show up on the x-ray. It is possible that the tooth hits too hard when you move your jaw in a certain direction. Your dentist has proven to you that he or she is concerned enough about your discomfort to completely replace the new filling, so it is a pretty safe bet that he or she has also checked the bite thoroughly. I think the tooth is infected and needs a root canal. The tooth was infected even before the first filling was done. The act of working on the tooth triggered the painful results; which you would have eventually experienced if nothing at all had been done. You may not ever know exactly why the tooth became infected. Sometimes teeth die.It sounds to me like you have a good dentist. He or she is working hard to make you comfortable.
